Dr. Louise Montello

AMTA Specialized Training Program

About the Program

The Three-Level Certificate Training Program in Performance Wellness prepares both music therapy students and professionals to integrate clinically tested music therapy-based wellness and mind-body healing techniques into their work with a variety of clinical populations. Participants are also trained to use these techniques for preventing and treating the stresses associated with performance (on the stage, podium, and In the classroom, boardroom, and treatment room).

This ground-breaking program will revolutionize your music therapy practice - and transform the lives of both you and your clients.

Open to MA level music therapy students and board-certified music therapists (72 CEU’S for completion of three-level program).

  • Demonstrate clinically tested music-based relaxation and breathing techniques for stress reduction
  • Demonstrate the use of body-based cognitive restructuring and body-mind centering techniques
  • Demonstrate the use of clinical improvisation, musical psychodrama and musical charades as transformational tools in dealing with the emotional issues associated with stage fright and other performance-related disorders
